This Privacy Policy explains how PackScout LLC ("PackScout," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use packscout.com and related services (the "Service").

This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service. It applies to personal information processed by PackScout through the Service and does not govern the privacy practices of Third-Party Platforms or other third parties.

A. Information You Provide Directly

Account information. If you create an account, we may collect information associated with that account, such as your email address, name, account identifier, and authentication information. If you sign in through a third-party provider such as Google or Apple, we receive information that provider makes available to us in accordance with your settings and authorization.

Email and subscription information. If you sign up for product updates, newsletters, alerts, gated content, or similar communications, we collect the email address and related subscription information you provide.

Communications. If you contact us, including at hello@packscout.com, we may retain your contact information and the contents of the communication.

B. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, PackScout and service providers acting on our behalf may automatically collect information including:

  • pages or screens viewed and interactions with the Service;
  • searches, filters, clicks, and features used;
  • referring and exit pages or URLs;
  • date and time of access;
  • browser, operating system, and device information;
  • IP address and general location derived from IP address;
  • cookie, local-storage, session, and similar identifiers; and
  • server, diagnostic, performance, security, and error logs.

We may use cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, or similar technologies to operate the Service, maintain sessions and preferences, understand use of the Service, prevent abuse, and support affiliate attribution.

C. Information From Third Parties

Authentication providers. If you use a third-party sign-in provider, we receive the information you authorize that provider to share with us.

Service providers and analytics providers. We may receive information from vendors that help us operate, secure, measure, or improve the Service.

Affiliate partners and networks. We may receive information indicating that a referral, click, conversion, purchase, or other qualifying event occurred so that commissions or referral fees can be attributed to PackScout.

Third-Party Platform product information. PackScout collects publicly available or licensed odds, pricing, product, and related information concerning Third-Party Platforms. This information generally concerns products and platforms rather than individual PackScout users.

We may use personal information to:

  • provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service;
  • create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts;
  • provide requested features, alerts, communications, or content;
  • send product updates, newsletters, or marketing communications that you have requested or that are otherwise permitted by law;

  • understand how users interact with the Service and improve features, data displays, filters, and user experience;
  • attribute referrals, conversions, or purchases to PackScout under affiliate or referral programs;
  • measure the effectiveness of PackScout's products, communications, and partnerships;
  • detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to fraud, scraping, abuse, security incidents, prohibited automated activity, and violations of our Terms of Service or Data & Commercial Use Policy;
  • protect the rights, safety, security, and property of PackScout, our users, and others;
  • comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

3How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We may provide information to vendors that perform services on our behalf, such as hosting, cloud infrastructure, database services, authentication, analytics, security, email delivery, customer support, and technical operations. These providers process information for the purposes of providing services to PackScout, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

Affiliate partners and networks. When you click an affiliate or referral link, the applicable Third-Party Platform or affiliate-network intermediary may receive information used to attribute the referral to PackScout, such as a click identifier, timestamp, referring page, device or browser information, or similar attribution data. PackScout may receive conversion or transaction attribution information in return. The specific information processed depends on the applicable partner and its technology.

Professional advisers. We may disclose information to lawyers, accountants, insurers, auditors, consultants, or similar advisers where reasonably necessary for professional services or to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

Legal, security, and safety purposes. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by applicable law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or is reasonably necessary to investigate fraud or abuse, enforce our agreements, protect the Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of PackScout, our users, or others.

Business transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred in connection with an actual or proposed merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.

At your direction or with your consent. We may disclose information when you direct us to do so or otherwise consent.

PackScout does not sell personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

4Cookies, Analytics, and Affiliate Tracking

PackScout and service providers acting on our behalf may use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential functions, such as authentication, security, session management, and remembering preferences;
  • Analytics and performance, such as understanding how users navigate and interact with the Service and identifying technical issues;
  • Fraud, security, and abuse prevention, including detecting suspicious traffic, scraping, and automated access; and
  • Affiliate attribution, such as determining whether a visit or qualifying transaction resulted from a PackScout referral.

Your browser or device may allow you to block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect authentication, preferences, affiliate attribution, or other functionality.

Google Analytics. With your permission, we use Google Analytics to measure page visits on the production website. Google Analytics cookies distinguish browsers and sessions. We do not load Google's analytics tag until you allow analytics. We send page categories and the referring site's origin, excluding URL query strings, fragments, account identifiers, search terms and form contents. Advertising features are disabled. Google may also process browser, device and general location information. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Use Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page to change your choice. Declining stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies for this website. We remember your choice in this browser's local storage. This choice does not change essential authentication or preference storage, or the existing Vercel traffic and performance measurements.

Where applicable law requires consent or an opt-out mechanism for particular cookies or tracking technologies, PackScout will provide the applicable choice mechanism.

5Email and Marketing Choices

You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link included in the communication or by contacting hello@packscout.com.

Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send non-marketing messages where appropriate, such as account, security, legal, or service-related communications.

6Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain accounts and subscriptions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud and abuse, and establish or defend legal claims.

Retention periods vary depending on the nature of the information and why we process it. For example, account information may generally be retained while an account remains active and for an appropriate period afterward, and email subscription information may be retained as necessary to honor subscription and suppression preferences.

We may retain certain information for longer where required or permitted by law, including security records, transaction or affiliate records, records of consent or acceptance, and information needed to establish or defend legal rights.

7Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of personal information;
  • request or obtain a portable copy of certain personal information;
  • object to or request restriction of certain processing;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • opt out of certain uses or disclosures where applicable law provides that right.

To submit a privacy request, contact hello@packscout.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

You will not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

California

If you are a California resident and applicable California privacy law applies to PackScout, you may have rights to know or access, correct, and delete certain personal information, and to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information as those terms are defined by applicable law.

PackScout does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. PackScout does not currently use or disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in a manner that PackScout treats as "sharing" under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended. If our practices change in a manner that creates an applicable opt-out right, we will provide the required mechanism.

European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom and applicable data-protection law applies to PackScout's processing of your information, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with an applicable supervisory authority.

Where required, PackScout will process personal information on an appropriate legal basis, which may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with legal obligations.

8Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to individuals under 18.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 through the Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18 in circumstances where we should not have done so, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If you believe an individual under 18 has provided personal information to PackScout, contact hello@packscout.com.

9Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Accordingly, PackScout cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

10International Data Transfers

PackScout is based in the United States. If you access the Service from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries in which PackScout or its service providers operate.

Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we will use legally recognized transfer mechanisms or other appropriate safeguards.

The Service contains links to Third-Party Platforms and other third-party websites or services.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of those third parties. Once you leave PackScout or interact directly with a Third-Party Platform, that third party's privacy policy and practices apply.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of Third-Party Platforms and other services before providing them with personal information.

12Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate or legally required, providing additional notice.

Your continued use of the Service after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective is subject to the revised policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
